Koffin Kats: Inhumane – CD Review

I like to consider myself a fan of Punk music. Stuff like Sex Pistols, Pixies or whatever. Koffin Kats is the new breed of what most have deemed a dead genre with the EMO movement sapping the life out of people. Punk exists to this day to make you move and get you angry. EMO is the complete reverse.

They have some questionable songs like “Darker Place” which is a sort of demented, twisted SKA tune dedicated to human sacrifice in the tune of what I can only describe as Elvis like. Ewwww.

It’s a punk version of Beatnik SKA so it’s hard to really discern one song from the next. The music is, for the most part, furious and potentially moshpit crippling. Some serious questions arise about WHY in hell, if you’re punk, do you play a bass (orchestral) and sing like the Stray Cats on acid.

Nothing really sticks out as tremendously good. If they stuck to straight punk instead of a lame and demented version of bad SKA I could give it a higher score than 6 out of 10.
