The Eldorado Lounge: Welcome to the Eldorado Lounge – CD Review

I decided I needed to listen to something else. I like my rock and alternative music, punk, ska and the like. It was time, I thought, to try something a little more cultural. Enter the Eldorado Lounge which is a Rock/Folk Rock/R&B kind of style. I like it!

Get yourself a convertible, slap this CD in and drive down the coast. It’s a feel good kind of music. You can’t really beat the musicianship, vocals, lyrics or anything so – yeah.. groovy.

“You Are What You Play” gets a special note – it’s just damn good. It’s pure kinetic energy. Masterful guitar, fast vocals and gut punching bass. Let it blow you away my friends ‘cause it’s F-U-N.

“Go Driving” and “Eldorado” bring us two great driving songs whereas “Starting From Scratch” hits us with some smooth bluesy rock. I need a fire extinguisher it’s that hot.

There is just so much to say here. Folk, R&B, Southern Rock and a lot of storytelling fun – bands like Train come to mind. “Eights and Nines” and “Under the El Tracks” are very, very solid songs both musically and vocally.

If you love good time jam session tracks then take a listen to “Jimmy Free” – it’s something to really get up and dance to (if I danced that is) because it is upbeat and driven.

This album is packed full of great music that will wind up on my MP3 player (once I get into the tech age and buy one). From “Go Driving” to “American Road” everything is fantastic. Musically, vocally and lyrically I can’t say enough about it. 10 out of 10 is definitely warranted and hell – I’ll adjust my rating system for The Eldorado Lounge: 12 out of 10.
