Roosevelt’s Plan: Song 2 – CD Review

It’ll melt your face off man! If Van Halen ever wants to retire Eddie the lead guitarist from Roosevelt’s Plan could take his axe and beat him with it. Just my opinion though. In any case – hard thrashing rock!

I normally am not into synthesized or filtered vocals but on “50” I feel it. It adds much dirt and grime to the industrial badass flavor of the lyrics and the music in general. It crushes and sends bass over the charts that I haven’t heard since Cliff Burton.

Nothing says stretching the musical boundaries when something like “Song 2”, the title track, comes on. It’s got deep soul to it and is very bluesy but with severely crushing guitar and drums. “Song 2” turns my thinking completely about Roosevelt’s Plan from just a crushing rock band but to one with style.

The rest of the album is just tight. Nothing is so overpowering that you can’t hear the vocals. It’s really good rock and changes enough to stay decently unique. You don’t want to listen to 16 tracks and find that if it wasn’t for the 8 second pause between songs you’d have no clue it wasn’t just one long song. 9 out of 10 because it’s fluid, strong and seamless.
