Swedish-Argentinian musician Jose Gonzalez gained notoriety in America and around the world with his two breathtaking solo albums Veneer and In Our Nature. Jose had the opportunity to leave his studies of receiving his PhD in Biochemistry to tour the World over. Post-World tour, lifelong friend drummer Elias Araya and Jose, joined forces with keyboardist Tobias Winterkorn to create the band Junip. Years in the making the trio have created the strikingly beautiful and somber album Fields, out now on Mute Records. If you love Jose’s solo work, you will most certainly fall for Fields.
I sat down with Jose and Tobias to discuss Fields, their North American tour, Bonnaroo, tips on how to succeed in the music industry and what makes Swedish bands so amazing.
For more info on Junip check out their website. Preview and purchase Fields on I-tunes. Follow the band on Twitter. Like them on Facebook. Follow Jose on Twitter.
