Philpot: Hate Writes Better Than Love – Music Review

There is nothing that I can think of that can beat out great rock music other than awesome sex while listening to great rock music. The lead singer from Philpot, like Vince Neil or Ozzy, has a very distinct voice that is a gravely sort of thing but yet fairly refined, rich tone.

The first two tracks were both very hard rock anthem and blew me away. “Fall” offered up a little something slower and rich in tone and you can really make out and hear the great vocals backing this power ballad.

“Sugar Thumb” is a very bluesy melody with great music. The lyrics on the other hand are quite dull and not very impressive except for the chorus which is very catchy and well done. Work around the chorus and the song is great.

Philpot brings to the music table a rich vocal style, seething guitar and all around cleverly arranged music. Lyrics that are catchy certainly do not hurt their appeal. If you like soulful, down to earth Rock ‘N Roll then you’ll love Philpot and clearly a 10 out of 10.
