A few Hundred turned out in NYC in front of Macy’s Herald Square on Black Friday, the notorious, Largest shopping day of the year, to encourage people not to shop and to stand for justice instead. In the aftermath of Not indicting Darren Wilson for the shooting death of Mike Brown. Thousands of people have been out in the streets since the Non indictment was handed out in cities all across the U.S. Businesses in the town of Ferguson, MO. where the shooting took place were burned to the ground, some say by Police, to make it look like Protestors did it.
The crowd chanted in front of Macy’s “Black Lives Matter” while a few speakers addressed the crowd using a Mega phone expressing the blatant injustices faced by black Americans.
The crowd eventually made it’s way up to 42nd Street with the same message. Khaleel Anderson, an organizer from Rockaway Youth Ask Force spoke to CBS News about how the $$ spent by Black Americans does not get reinvested Back into their communities.
We spoke to a tourist from the UK who came out of the stores to march leaving her friends to meet later on, so the message is getting out.
