At Any Price (2012) – Movie Review

20140125_0427Director: Ramin Bahrani
Writer: Ramin Bahrani, Hallie Elizabeth Newton
Studio: Sony Pictures Classics
Genre: Drama, Thriller
Rating: R
Runtime: 1 hour 45 minutes

This was a solid movie about a average family farm life in Iowa (at least from my point of view) which has Zac Effron who really is doing well outside of high school musical I actually like him much more now! He has been landing real serious roles and in decent movies. And also co-starring Dennis Quad who is just this awkward guy but you still like him for whatever reason.

Dennis character grows up all american corn farm who you know owns a good enough amount of land and wants to pass it down to his oldest son, but the oldest son in true rebel style never returns home after going to college but sends home his family postcards about his world travels (love this guy haha), and Zac wants to be a Nascar driver (true iowa style haha).

So you have farmer drama, corn drama (corn drama is to be taken very seriously) and you overall truly can feel for everyone since the movie involves you very closely to their family. And if your a city kid your like wow… what hillbillies but for them its real life!
