The Visitor (2007) – Movie Review

20140120_0947Director: Thomas McCarthy
Writer: Thomas McCarthy
Studio: Overture Films
Genre: Crime, Drama, Romance
Rating: PG13 for brief strong language
Runtime: 1 hour 48 minutes

A movie about a really dull professor who lives between Conn and NYC who gets met with some unexpectedness when his landlord rented out his apt because he was rarely home to some Syrians who thought they got an honest deal (haha true NYC fashion) he learns they are illegals and just kinda makes peace with them and both characters try to make both of what they have… then one of the flatmates gets pretty much wrongly accused for turnstile jumping but since he is illegal and is unable to show his ID he gets arrested and taken away. The main guy tries to get him out but can’t… the movie does expose the shadiness of the I.N.S. how they will make illegals just disappear… even if they have a citizen trying to get them out of that situation. The movie is a bit slow but alright its a good coffee watching movie and gives you some faith in humanity.
