Cityreal Announces Canadian Tour With Swollen Members

20130223_10082013 is already shaping up to be a busy one for Vancouver based rapper/producer Cityreal.  Just last month he released a new full length album Good Morning Blues, with the help of Blues veteran Wes Mackey.  Good Morning Blues was recorded in Vancouver at multiple studios; and features Juno nominees D-Sisive and Madchild (of Swollen Members). Both Cityreal and Wes were heavily influenced by the gritty, dark and simplistic sound of the very early blues musicians, pioneers such as Leadbelly, Robert Johnson and Albert King. “The concept for the album was to pair traditional blues elements with modern production and sampling techniques,” says Cityreal, and the result is one of the more unique Hip-Hop albums created in recent years.

On the heels of the release, Cityreal (aka Remi Huot) took a trip to the very cool and bleak landscape of the Oil Sands in Fort McMurray to complete shooting on his new video for the track, “Nightlife.” Check it out HERE.

Cityreal recently returned from Toronto, where he has already begun working on his next album with the help of renowned pianist and string composer Todor Kobakov (Metric, K-OS, Dan Mangan) – so stayed tuned for that.

To top all that off, Cityreal just announced a cross Canada tour in support of fellow West Coast Hip Hop superstars, The Swollen Members.
