Synth pop princess, Casey Desmond, has released a new music video for “Rendezvous,” this week on ArtistDirect.com. Rendezvous is off Desmond’s latest album, “Déjà Vu,” which was released on November 26th, via Sound Museum Records. Following her stint on NBC’s “The Voice,” her newest project breaks new ground while remaining true to her love of 80’s pop icons.
About the concept of the music video, Desmond says, “The characters in the video for ‘Rendezvous’ are based on old pagan stories revolving around the winter solstice, celebrating the beginning of winter. I’ve always been fascinated with nature, wild animals, and ancient cultures. With there being so much talk about the Mayan calendars focus on this year’s winter solstice, I decided to make a video tying the two messages together. The video embodies a lot of symbolism,
old and new, and pays homage to beliefs from all over the globe. There’s a lot of hype surrounding the end of this world, as we know it. Let us all reflect on new beginnings this winter solstice, whether it’s our last day on earth, or the first of the new world.”
Casey Desmond is a one-woman army. An award winning songwriter, multi instrumentalist & vocalist, she also divides her time working as a commercial studio & re-mix engineer, producer, and fashion designer who hand makes all the costumes, sets and merchandise for her music videos and live performances.
‘Déjà Vu’ showcases her impressive collection of vintage synthesizers and keyboards to seamlessly merge her love of today’s electro dance music with the classic sounds of the analog pop hits of the past, creating a one of a kind sound that is Casey Desmond.
This is her third project with band mate / monster guitar slinger and engineer Taylor Barefoot, a return to Studio Bopnique for production with multi gold & platinum master of sonic atmosphere Anthony J. Resta, and a new venture with collaborating songwriter fellow Boston native via Nashville, Robert Ellis Orrall, and final production, mix and mastering with E. Hart.
