Drum Fight IX and Expo Is Back At A New Location, Judged By Local Drumming Royalty

Dozens of drummers gather for a drum battle to win prizes and get noticed by music biz insiders

On Saturday June 2nd, please join Music School Inc and some of the best and most knowledgeable drummers on Long Island for the ninth installment of the widely successful Drum Fight drum competition and expo, happening at Revolution (formerly Ollie’s Point) 140 Merrick Rd in Amityville 631-264-7712.

The event, which was previously and famously held at the Crazy Donkey before its demise, features Judges Mike Portnoy (Adrenaline Mob, Dream Theater), Frank Gilchriest (Virgin Steele, Holy Mother) and Long Island’s own Billy Rymer (Dillinger Escape Plan) who will be rating the contestants on categories such as skill, flair and originality for great prizes and bragging rights.

“As in past years, dozens of drummers will unite on the drum fight stage June 2nd for an old school drum battle.” remarked Jared Feldman of Music School Inc, sponsor and founder of the event since its inception. “Judging from the submissions so far, the talent displayed at Drum Fight IX promises to be truly remarkable”.

Doors open at 2pm for the Drum Expo (which features sponsors such as Samson Technologies, Sam Ash Music, Vic Firth, Evans, Modern Drummer, GMS and Mad Drums among others) and at 4pm for the Drum Fight competition itself, which begins promptly at 5pm. Tickets are open to all ages and are available for $25 in advance by visiting www.clubloaded.com or for $30 at the door on the day of the show.
