It was announced this week that Petrel, the Johnny Wright (NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears) managed sister group with the heavy hooks and the bombshell looks, has just released their debut track; the aptly named “Bombshell” through their website PetrelMusic.com and on iTunes as well as at the other major online retailers.
“We are ecstatic about the release of Bombshell” said Jess, lead Singer, “Being sisters, when it comes to writing, we like to tell stories in our songs and this is a story we believe every girl needs to hear.” With Bombshell I really think we’ve found our voice!”
The song, which chronicles a true story of boyfriend betrayal that every girl can relate to, was recorded with world renowned producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Boys Like Girls, Nickelback) at his studios in Vancouver and fully showcases what makes Petrel interesting and unique: lead singer Jess’ powerhouse pipes, middle sister Bekah’s soulful approach to playing keyboards/drums and youngest sister Destiny’s serious guitar chops, which are way beyond her years.
The timing of the release couldn’t be better. Since the song became available online, the girls’ have been going non-stop. For instance, they recently performed at the 102.7 KIIS FM Hollywood Knights Celebrity Charity Basketball game at Diamond Bar High School for a high energy crowd of faculty, students and fans. During the tournament, they rubbed elbows with Hollywood stars like Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games), Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights) and Alyson Stoner (Disney’s Camp Rock). The crowd was so impressed with Petrel that their line for autographs dwarfed that of the aforementioned movie stars!
