With Hank Thompson as his first client, Halsey went over the next six decades to discover, manage, book, or develop guidance for a ‘who’s who’ roster in music.  Artists under the Halsey banner included the‘superstars’ of virtually every music era—from Minnie Pearl, Roy Clark, Merle Haggard, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis and the Oak Ridge Boys tomore recent legendary names such as The Judds, Clint Black, and Reba McEntire.
Jim Halsey today remains vital and active in the music industry—both with the continuance of his 36 year role as personal manager of The Oak Ridge Boys and in pursuit of his passion to educate the upcoming ‘new generation’ of music entrepreneurs.  He has created and serves as direction of the award-winning Music and Entertainment Business Program studies at Oklahoma City University, where he both guest lectures and teaches.
