Norwegian police say three men with links to al-Qaida have been arrested in Norway and Germany for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack

The head of Norway’s Police Security Service, Janne Kristiansen, announced the arrests Thursday.

One of the suspects was a Norwegian citizen of Uighur descent, while the other two were an Iraqi and an Uzbek who had residency in Norway.

The Associated Press quoted Norwegian police as saying it was not clear if the suspects had a specific target in mind, but that they planned to make powerful peroxide bombs.
