Toronto's People in Grey Release Long Awaited Single "Rock n Roll Prostitute" for Free Download

From the ashes of Toronto band’s Clydesdale and Tangiers, comes Toronto’s newest indie rock outfit People in Grey. Having previously shared stages with the likes of The Editors, The Antlers, and Young Rival, they will release their long awaited debut single “Rock n Roll Prostitute” for free on their myspace and available on iTunes. The single is a taste of what is to come. People in Grey diligently meld brit-inspired garage rock with clean pop sensibilities. People in Grey have a big lovable sound that will sweep the city up in it’s melodic bliss.

People in Grey will play at the Drake Underground on May 13th in Toronto. Link to EPK, bio, and show details below.

BIO
It’s been a long road for People in Grey. After playing with half of Toronto’s musicians, more line up changes than the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and name changes galore, we arrive upon today’s version of People in Grey. A three piece that fancies guttural Brit-infused garage rock and roll and writes raging anthems to dance to.

Born and raised in Toronto, vocalist/guitarist Shawn Leger met bassist Scott Thompson in high school. After playing in different bands together and apart for 15 years, you grow a certain type of intrinsic trust and comfort ability in your songwriting. It’s this untouched gritty honesty you can hear pouring out of each of People in Grey’s tracks. Visually they hint at the rebellious charm of the Voidoids, sonically you can hear early Springsteen or the dirty-prettiness of Psychedelic Furs, all mixed with their own twist brewed from years of playing together. It’s vintage punk, perfect pop and steel rock all at once.

People in Grey have just release their new single “Rock and Roll Prostitute” for free download on their Myspace (also available on iTunes). They will continue putting up free downloads via their website and gigging in and around Toronto. This Canadian trio is just getting started.
