Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Beau, was in a Delaware hospital on Tuesday for an undisclosed illness and was described as alert and awake.
Biden, 41, is Delaware’s attorney general and opted against running for the U.S. Senate seat once held by his father.
A statement from Joe Biden’s office said Beau is at Christiana Medical Center “undergoing treatment at present.” Joe and Jill Biden were at his side.
“He is alert and awake, and communicating with his parents and his wife, who are with him. We will provide more details as they become available,” the statement said.
