Questioning 4 alleged members of al-Qaida-linked militant group over possible links to Times Square bombing suspect

KARACHI, Pakistan — Pakistani officials say U.S. law enforcement officers have joined them in questioning four alleged members of an al-Qaida-linked militant group over possible links to the Times Square bombing suspect.

Authorities from both nations are trying to track the movements of Faisal Shahzad and ascertain whom he met in Pakistan on his final trip here last year before Saturday’s botched car bombing.

Two Pakistani security officials said Thursday four alleged members of the Jaish-e-Mohammad militant group are being questioned over possible links to Shahzad.

They said U.S. law enforcement officials as well as Pakistani ones had been given access to the men.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
