S.G.: Bonafied! – Music Review

The southern rap scene seemed to be cooling off over the past couple of years. Well, you might want to grab a cold drink before listening to the south’s hottest new upcoming rapper. S.G. just released his debut album “Bonafied!,” on Southern Stisles Records. For those who are unfamiliar with the definition of “bonafied,” it means “like no other.” This album is definitely original with high energy beats and lyrics.

The introduction track on the album prepares you for the topics S.G. talks about in his music. Everyday is a hustle in this artist’s life, and he does not let you forget that. When he was just fifteen years old, he was freestyle battling at school to make a name for himself. Women also play a big role on the record; it seems that he is constantly being bothered by girls who can’t let him go. Hey, what do you expect when you are the south’s newest rap star?

Whether you are rocking by yourself, or having a party, this is the album you need. Every track has an undeniable energy, created by the hard hitting beats, and lyrics that are sure to get anybody hyped. If you enjoy the sound of Roland’s classic “808” kick drum, than you will love many of the tracks on the record including, “Eryday Hustle” and “Bad.” The female vocal in track 8 “Freaky Girl,” is almost erotic and really helps set the mood of the song.

Overall, I really enjoyed listening to this album. S.G. is sure to be a name that you are going to become very familiar with, if you are not already. No matter what style of hip hop music you listen to, “Bonafied!” is sure to be a pleasure for the ears. Now do yourself a favor and go buy a copy of the album!
