CONFIRMED FOR SPECIAL PERFORMANCE DURING CEREMONY. BLACK LABEL SOCIETY HEADS INTO STUDIO TO RECORD FIRST ALBUM IN THREE YEARS
(New York, NY) – In last week’s Second Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards Nominee Announcement and Press Conference, guitar legend Zakk Wylde was recognized in the “Best Guitarist” category. Wylde commented, “I’m honored to be nominated alongside my brothers in metal. Just wait until you see me perform at the show – it’ll be clear who should win!”
The winners of each category will be determined by public voting online at www.revolvermag.com/goldengods and will be announced live at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards Presented By Epiphone Show at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia on Thursday, April 8th. Voting is open until Tuesday, March 30th. Wylde has also been confirmed for a very special performance during the ceremony. The show will be broadcast on Saturday, May 22nd on VH1 Classic.
Wylde and his Black Label Society have a busy few months ahead of them as they will soon head into the studio to record the first new Black Label Society album in three years. The band will hole up in Wylde’s newly-constructed state-of-the-art home studio. Veteran drummer Will Hunt (Evanescence, Methods Of Mayhem) has signed on for the new album and upcoming tour around the release of the new Black Label Society album, due out in summer, 2010 on E1 Music.
In the two decades since Ozzy Osbourne hired him away from his job at a New Jersey gas station, Zakk Wylde has established himself as a guitar icon known and revered the world over. Writing and recording with Osbourne led to multi-platinum success, inspiring him to create the now legendary Black Label Society in 1998.
