NEW YORK , NEW YORK – (November 2009) – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are nearly 152 million women in America, and around 14 percent of them are considered to be in only fair or poor health, with another 35 percent considered obese. Women’s health has become a focus for many, but not everyone is able to dish up advice and hold candid conversations the way Progressive Radio Network (PRN) can.

PRN, which was recently founded by health and wellness activist Gary Null, focuses on many issues and showcases a wide variety of talk-show hosts covering the progressive movement. Women’s health is one of the important issues that the grassroots radio station tackles on a daily basis, taking on the lack of consistent programming when it comes covering women’s health issues.

“There are many aspects to discuss in women’s health,” explains Null, an award-winning talk show host and bestselling author. “Our shows cover women’s day-to-day issues, physical and mental health topics.”

PRN features a variety of programs that feature different topics and hosts from within the progressive movement. The network is completely ad-free, which allows for complete freedom of speech, as well as being devoid of editorial and media censorship. Topics in women’s health vary by show and day, but include such topics as pregnancy, menopause, aging, environmental health, and holistic healing. The shows which focus on covering a variety of women’s health issues, both mental and physical, include:

·        What Women Must Know – Dr. Sherrill Sellmen, a women’s health educator and Doctor of Naturopathy, presents segments that focus on naturopathy, integrative healing and making better healthcare choices.

·        Super Natural Mom – Progressive talk-radio host Beth Greer, a noted author and journalist, focuses a chemical free family and life style.

·        The Natural Nurse® – Dr. Ellen Kamhi focuses her shows on alternative and holistic medicine issues, tackling such topics as cancer, antioxidants, nutritional supplements, worry and fear, aging, and vaccine choices.

·        It’s All About Food – Caryn Hartglass, who has been a vegetarian for over 35 years, focuses on the vegetarian lifestyle on her show, and demonstrates how vegetarianism can help address many of the health concerns that women have.

·        A Woman’s Perspective – Virginia Reed focuses on such mental health issues as image, presence, and body language.

Other shows on listener-supported PRN cover such progressive topics as politics, freedom of speech, the environment, autism, the economy, pets, mindful living, and more. All show topics, events and times can be found on the PRN site at www.progressiveradionetwork.com.

“Progressive talk radio is here and ready to address the tough issues that we face in our lives,” adds Null. “And, being censorship-free, we are not limited. That’s when you really have a good show about a topic. We are excited by the response we have gotten from listeners thus far.”
