Congress planning to investigate how much the military knew about Nidal Hasan and his plans to attack Fort Hood

Congress is planning to investigate how much the military knew about Nidal Hasan’s communications with a radical Muslim imam prior to last week’s deadly attack at Fort Hood. And, the blame game has begun as military intelligence and Army officials dispute who knew what when, and what they did with the information.

Signs continue to point to religious and political extremism as the primary motive for the shootings, which killed 13 people — not the act of a deranged, lone gunman.

The FBI is looking into Major Hasan’s final meal before the attack — attended by six or seven members of his mosque.

There will be a Senate hearing on the investigation next week. And, the FBI has launched its own internal investigation.
