The Bronx Street Kid: Into Twelve Step Recovery by Richard Kane

OUTLAW BIKER’S EXPOSÉ – COMPELLING STORY OF SURVIVAL How the victim of sexual abuse, family violence, alcoholism, and even attempted murder overcame his life struggles.

Imagine at eight-years-old being constantly filled with fear. Not having learned how to count beyond 100 yet, you no longer know the amount of times your father has beaten you. You’ve been mentally and sexually abused, and have been living with an intense emotional pain which most people never experience in their lifetime. This is where the Richard Kane story begins.

In his new book The Bronx Street Kid: Into Twelve Step Recovery, author Richard Kane recounts his life’s struggles with complete openness and sheer honesty, detailing what he has learned through the shocking series of events from his past. From a candid account of sexual abuse at the age of seven to his survival of a nearly successful murder attempt on his life just over 30 years later, Kane’s tumultuous journey weaves an astonishing tale of the enduring human spirit.

As a recovering alcoholic and former member of the Hell’s Angels, Kane is reaching out to people who have suffered similar troubles by revealing his path to survival. He shows how to overcome severe emotional trauma by letting go of the past and transforming one’s life.

“This is my story of brokenness to wholeness,” says Kane. “As a child, I survived physical and sexual abuse. I became a drunk, hiding my problems in a bottle of booze. Eventually with some extra help, I realized that I had to let go of the old life, and make room for the new.”

The Bronx Street Kid: Into Twelve Step Recovery delivers many positive messages that shine through even during the most tragic and despairing moments: face your fears, never lose hope, seek help, find something worthwhile in life and be grateful for everything you have. The book serves as an excellent learning tool for anyone coping with some sort of troubled past, and can inspire others to help those in need.

Kane, who ten years ago thought it was impossible to truly enjoy his life, is a firm advocate of the Twelve-Step Recovery Program. He now possesses a strong sense of self-worth, which has allowed him to finally feel consistently happy. He has also learned to love and accept himself and others, a feat that was previously impossible for him to achieve.

“I am very serious about the Twelve-Step Recovery,” says Kane. “I take it as life and death. I choose to live.”

Richard Kane is a former member of the motorcycle gang Hell’s Angels and is a recovering alcoholic. He is also a member of the Laborer’s Union Local 592 in New Jersey. Kane grew up in New York in the Bronx, but he has lived and traveled amid many different locations across the country.

After enduring a very rough past, his main goal in life is to stay sober so that he can continue to enjoy life, and help others who share similar backgrounds. Kane currently resides in Teaneck, New Jersey.
