General Motors will reinstate 1,350 jobs.

General Motors said Tuesday that in response to an increase in sales, it will add 60,000 cars and trucks to its North American production schedule and reinstate 1,350 jobs. The added production will occur in the third and fourth quarters, with work shifts to be added at its CAMI plant in Ontario, Canada and its plant in Lordstown, Ohio. GM said its Chevy Cobalt and Chevy HHR are among the models experiencing an increase in demand in the wake of the government’s so-called cash for clunkers rebate program.
