Kids’ Choice Awards Lounge Helps Celebrities Support Family Values, While Feeding 70,000 of LA’s Needy

A Different Kind of Gift Lounge

When you hear “Celebrity Gift Lounge”, you probably only think of celebrities receiving gifts, but on March 25th and 26th, Melanie Segal’s Lounge, in celebration of the Kids’ Choice Awards presented by Stouffer’s, makes it easy for celebrities to help give back, too.

In honor of the celebrities that attend the lounge and pledge to promote family values by having dinner with their families more often, Stouffer’s will provide enough meals to feed LA for a day – by donating funds to feed approximately 70,000 people.

“It’s not just about ‘taking’ anymore,” says Melanie Segal, owner and CEO of Platinum Publicity. “In these tough economic times, celebrities know there are many who are less fortunate and that’s why they come out and support a great cause like this.”

The lounge is promoting family values by encouraging families to eat dinner together more often. Research from The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASA) supports the fact that kids who eat meals together with their families are less likely to smoke, drink or use drugs. They also get better grades and are more likely to feel that their parents are proud of them.

“Celebrities are trend setters,” Segal explains. “If we can encourage celebrities to show the world the importance of family values and giving back, then we can slowly make the world a better place – one meal at a time!” To help celebrities get started, they will be gifted Stouffer’s dinners for one month.

The event will still be gifting plenty of the latest gadgets and fashion trends for celebrities to enjoy. “We’ve just added a way to give back to society at the same time!”

Some other gifts include Dance Dance Revolution, Flip Video, Blockbuster, Richard Solo Electronics, Transworld Skateboards, Crayola, PNY computer electronics, Wrigley’s 5 Gum, Scholastic, K’Nex, Stride Rite, the Game Doc, Lipsmackers, Fab Fan Arcade Game, P.A.C Perfect, and Guilty Pleasures celebrity trivia.

Kids’ Choice Awards Nominees who have received invites to the lounge include Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Tyra Banks, Venus and Serena Williams, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway, LeBron James, and Peyton Manning.
