As we know it music constantly keeps evolving in a 360 degree world that transcends to unlimited boundaries which often leaves the avid music fan an open door to discover a whole new world of performers, solo artists, and one of a kind sensations that often leave us in a whirl wind of an amazement if just how great their music is if you free your mind and unleash the love for music and all it has to offer as a monumental day dream of endless enjoyment.

The vintage sounds of both A Cappella and Doo Whop era’s, it can often be a memorable staple growing up with a musical background from all walks of life as a musician and today that same sound has still remains a staple in music history with a modern twist from ten individuals who simple call themselves Straight No Chaser. For the sensational combination of musicians who share the common factor of a blended background a craft that only these guys can truly entertain, Straight No Chaser earned them a cult following since 1997 with just one You Tube Video that captured over 35 million stellar views landing them in a notable recognition into a spotlight on a national level spanning over 500,000 albums flying off record shelves and 100’s of sold out concerts world wide.

I first had the rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of what any would call a singing delightful sensation super group back in 2011 right here in Philadelphia during a free concert with Disney Channel’s Pop Star Emily Osment. While Straight No Chaser is no stranger to the east coast area in sold out performances, they return to the stage here in Upper Darby Pennsylvania for the first time at the legendary Tower Theater for an incredible one night captivating performance.

With a huge local marketing push by national TV, Straight No Chaser quickly filled up the seats of the Tower Theater churning out a nearly full house without an opening act. Unlike most performances that often have pre recorded vocals or blended music, Straight No Chaser single handedly out do themselves with no fillers, no back ground music and defiantly no lip synchronization that wowed many who never seen these guys before. While I always enjoyed cover songs done by other solo artists or bands, Straight No Chaser pulls off some of the best harmonies with Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It from the Grape Vine, Weezer’s Undone (The Sweater Song), Madonna’s Like a Prayer, and Bell Biv DeVoe’s Poison.

Even if Straight No Chaser started slightly behind their original time at the Tower, Straight No Chaser were at the top of their game with a show no one should have missed out on. Unlike many shows, you see a band once twice, same old story same old song and dance, but with Straight No Chaser its a whole new world of a musical sensation that captivates a countless generation of music fans with a modern A Cappella Twist making Straight No Chaser a great show year after year.

These is no better way to see 10 incredible voices like Straight No Chaser under one roof then inside the intimate Tower Theater every seat is like a front row center performance.
