Trinadora ‘Trinadora Sounds’ Music Review

From the get-go, something about Trinadora’s approach and calming presence had me hooked. Maybe I was just in the mood for some music deep-rooted in folk, Americana, bluegrass and even sprinkled with cajun flare.

In “Like Waters of a Bayou” I found myself standing up from my chair twirling around the room and thumbing an imaginary spoon on my leg. It’s such a fun song, and the vocals are rich with years of experience and most of all, love. Something about this song yearned to be heard in church, as if it were the gospel of a front porches and a warm summer nights.

“Is It True” showcases vocalist Jannie Nelson’s mesmerizing voice. She sounds like a Disney princess and her delivery is warm, refreshing and like listening to a best friend tell you it’s all going to be okay.

The next track, “Alpine Morning” is an instrumental, fun little ditty. It’s like The Association, Peter Paul & Mary and The Turtles had a quick jam. Then, “Cafe on the Square” and “Should I Say It” pick up the tempo. I felt like “Should I Say It” might have been a better song to follow “Alphine Morning” but I definitely appreciate the vibe and keeping the flow they’ve accomplished in setting the tracks.

Strong piano openings like in “Who We Are” are consistent. They are just beautiful songs, with whispers of folk mixed with lush melodies and strong lyrics. The duo’s rapport is so strong and as a listener I became so easily drawn to and fixated on their artistic layers. Their song foundations may not be what people are listening to on the radio, but their musical canvas is colorful and multi-dimensional.

Other standouts are “Thorn In My Heart” (simple, but potent) and “Retro Rockin Roadhouse” (a throwback, but fun ditty!).

Take a listen … you’ll be glad you took the time!
