I have always been a fan of Keri Russell so I was excited to see her in a new movie… well new to me! She plays a girl who was massively obsessed with Jane Austen novels and ironically her character name is also Jane (ha ha ha) and her love life sucks, like all girls in a chick flick, and her best friend is preggo and life is going all well for her and tells Jane you just need to meet the right man but don’t ask me to help. Jane find a flyer to Austinland in London where you can re-live in the times of Jane Austen’ novels! Sounds like a swell amazing idea for a massive fangirl which Jane is! You see her room all decked out in Jane Austen paraphilia.

So of course she books herself a ticket to London to enjoy this real life experience!  OF COURSE She meets the obnoxious American who is annoying and pretends to know the British accent and sounds like nails on a chalk board. And when I saw it was Jennifer Coolidge I just cringed knowing that her screen time will be painful. So they finally get to Austenland which the annoying American paid for the gold package so gets the royal amazing treatment and Jane paid for the bronze package which pretty much gives you the experience but its not full of those victorian luxuries that the gold package gives you. And when you are in Austenland you are suppose to also have a suitor chase after you and eventually fall in love with you by the end, but I could tell thats going to lead to a disaster later on! So they got cheesy assigned names to fit into the times and cheesy era period clothing but it was very cute at the same time. But Jane was realizing that this fantasy world was just a bit overbearing and she thought the servant guy was being true and honest with her in this place, using you know modern technology and talking down upon the other guests in the manor. You follow Jane and the crazy American in their stay at Austenland and being suited by some attractive gents (who are very good actors) and then by the end of your stay which is done by a grand ball one of them will be your “lover” so you can leave Austenland all happily. But not all fantasy escapes are what they seem to be to the actors and the clients.

This movie was an enjoyable chick flick that took place in London and with Keri Russell all around an enjoyable but somewhat predictable film, but the costumes, backgrounds and music ah you should just watch it and see what you think.
