Shaun Boothe Releases “Phone Sex” Video

Unloading remixes and exclusive material machine-gun style after a much-much-too-long hiatus from Toronto rapper Shaun Boothe, the latest and arguably most highly anticipated piece of ammo is out today, August 2nd: his debut album Waiting Room, featuring the smash hit “Let Me Go”.

Fresh off an opening gig for Snoop Dogg in London,aCP24 interivew with Donny Osmondand poised to be the next on the list of Toronto Canada’s hottest new musical exports, Shaun Boothe has separated himself from the pack with his critically acclaimed Unauthorized Biography Series, featuring prominent historical figures that have inspired him, such as Barak Obama, Bob Marley, Sean P Diddy Coombs and Oprah.

Inspired by Nas’ tribute to Rakim, Boothe’s Bio Series videos summarize the lives and legacies of a wide variety of cultural icons in rhyme form. Getting blog love from Kanye West and tweets from Diddy himself – Boothe’s sixth icon to get the biography treatment for his “Hustler’s Edition”– it’s clear that he’s getting the attention of the right people.

With a handful of singles floating around the net, the time has finally come for the release of Shaun’s first full body of work.

Waiting Roomis officially released today, August 2nd, 2011, and is a compilation of previously released, unreleased and brand new material.

Boasting production for his go-to producer and cousin Nineteen85, along with a few self produced tracks, Boothe proves on ever song to be an honest, thought-provoking wordsmith – Soul-food in a fast-food driven market.

“Oh, your shoes match your shirt – that’s fire/My actions match my words – that’s flyer”

The overall sound is big, musical, sample-driven, and pulls heavily on the raw and genuine emotions of a young kid climbing his way up and looking toward the stars.

“Never had a plan B, this is all I ever planned to be”

In an industry where your live show can make you or break you, Shaun Boothe is renowned for his conceptual and highly interactive performances – many of which have graced the opening stages of concerts for multi-platinum artists, including Talib Kweli, Kardinal Offishall, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, and Snoop Dogg. Never satisfied with conforming to the norm, Boothe continually pushes the envelope in the live element of hip-hop. One can only imagine what a show it will be when his stars align and he moves from the side stage to center.
