Birds & Batteries: I'll Never Sleep Again - Indie Music Review

QUICK! Alert Chris Martin! Birds & Batteries lead singer Mike Sempert is trying to steal his sleepy, slow, voice affect.
Hailing from San Francisco, this quartet takes everything indie music is based on and takes it to the highest level. Honestly, I made three songs before I started to feel my eyes droop like I'd been sipping Benodryl all day. What caught me by surprise and brought me out of drowsiness was the song "Star Clusters". Slightly reminiscent of Ween, this song showed that this band has something to offer other than what is already been placed out there.
Other songs to lend an ear to are "After A Flood" and "Ocarina". Otherwise, unless you have a screaming baby that needs sleep or you're an insomniac, the other songs are not meant for actual consciousness, so if you'll excuse me I'm going to put on "Humanization" and take a nap.
All in all, I would recommend this CD to a new Korn fan, but for the diehards, pass unless you're looking to get the bonus DVD.
