The Len Price 3: Rentacrowd - Indie Music Review

By Jen Klee, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

The Len Price 3: Rentacrowd - Indie Music Review The Len Price 3 is a great band to listen to when you're not sure what the hell kind of music you're in the mood to listen to as they manage to sound like different bands on pretty much every song. Different bands from different time periods with only the smallest thing unitining them all. But all done in a good way.

The first track, "Rentacrowd" is everything a first track is supposed to be in that frankly it's great. It pulls you in and gives you hope (that won't let you down) for the rest of the album. It reminds me of the Clash combined with Weezer with their catchy hooks and melodies. This is easily my favorite track on the album.

For the most part, the Len Price 3 remind me of the bands out now trying to sound like the 1960's British bands. The Len Price 3 stand out though because I feel they're actually successful at it. They rarely add sounds of the 00's (is that what we are? the 2000s?) and their sound is much more pure while still fitting into the genre at the same time. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them get big.

Some of the other songs, such as "Doctor Gee" are very remniscent of the Kinks while others such as 'Mesmer" sound like that one Gorillaz single at times while still having some of the Len Price 3's own originality in it. Also hints of the International Noise Conspiracy are evident in songs such as "With Your Love". Normally, bands that sound like other bands are annoying, I mean if I like Weezer, why don't I just listen to Weezer, right? But in rare moments, sometimes they're great too, especially when the band manages to sound like all sorts of other bands you like as well.

The album ends with the track "Australia" which sounds somewhat like a Beatles inspiried song, a prereq every band seems to have these days. Again though, the Len Price 3 manage to pull it off and it sounds like one of their few other more serious sounding songs that are sprinkled throughout the album.

This is a great poppy sounding album, full of the bands you love but somehow at the same time managing to sound new. Again, I would not be surprised to see the Len Price 3 in other places besides Hot Indie News sometime in the future.
