Renee Zawawi: Legends - Indie Music Review
By Ralph White, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

One thing that struck me as interesting when I received RENEE ZAWAWI's press kit was the fact that she had been kidnapped as a child and unable to return home for 12 years. During that period she both wandered and wondered about her family and home from which she was taken.
Listening to her debut release "Legends" she still appears to wandering, at least from genre to genre, and wondering who she is as an artist. Tracks like "Mah" display the electronic-dance side of her personality while "Papa" is a worthy effort any World Beat artist would be proud of. Other tracks are perfumed with a Madonna-esque pop scent listeners can choose to either sing to or dance with.
While the young Ms. Zawawi may have a way to go regarding her ultimate career direction I must say that "Legends" is a strong first effort that she should undoubtedly be quite proud of and predicts a promising path this prolific singer/composer is sure to pursue in the future. My suggestion? Buy this CD and keep your eye on Renee. I believe she'll be easy to keep your eyes on!
