Johnny Playwright: All The World Is A Stage - Music Review There is a theme here – I’m not sure if I’m a fan of themes, but ‘eh – it works for these guys. “Charlie Chaplin Once Spoke” begins with an annoying guitar solo and that set me up to begin to hate it so my Geiger counter of quality was already at a low line. Lucky for them it came back and grew on me being a very fake punky sort of pop – musically unclean and vocals not very polished but the song is still good regardless.

“I Won’t Let You Down” sounds very good except in some parts it sounds as if the vocals are overlapping giving it a weird sound to it – mixing error I would hope ‘cause doing it intentionally is really bad form. All in all it’s catchy and fun. An MP3 add.

They prove they can play instruments on “Glass House” and “Intermission” which brought just vocal work and piano – a quite beautiful song.

There really aren’t any bad songs on the CD. You get the usual misplaced stuff or something just sounding not quite right. But the grand aspect is that it’s all very good sounding and I liked a vast majority of it. A solid 9 out of 10.
