inspired by Mediterranean roots (Greek, Egyptian and North African)
Elektra has performed with Lester Bowie, Gerry Mulligan, Paquito d’Rivera,

Da Phatfunk Clique
The funk/jazz sounds of Da Phatfunk Clique began with their 1999
"Pandemic Love" release, which was a collaboration between violinist
Darrell Looney and bassist Brian Ellis. Artists Janet Rogers (keyboards)
and Michael Thomas (drums) were added and the resulting vibe, both
jazzy and funky, has been described as an amalgamation of jazz from
Mavishnu Orchestra and funk ambience of George Clinton’s P-Funk. True to
form, these are among the group’s influences as are artists such as
Me’Shell NDegeOcello, Herbie Hancock, George Duke and Noel Pointer.
