Indie Musicians Get Their Orders

Date Published: January 12, 2005

Chrome Peeler Records head, Jason Ziemniak, thought that it would be a good idea to put out these compilations called "You've Got Your Orders Vol. 1 and 2" where he gives musicians song titles and they write and perform the songs. Apparently the cream of the crop of the alternative underground agreed with him.

"You've Got Your Orders Vol. 1" features songs from Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Mark Arm (Mudhoney), Mike Watt (Minutemen, Firehose), Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde), Neil Fallon (Clutch), Aaron Turner (Isis, House of Low Culture), Bluebird, Nels Cline (Wilco), Mike Gent (the Figgs, the Gentlemen), Bliss Blood (Pain Teens), Erik Larson (Alabama Thunderpussy), Beehive & the Barracudas, Twink, Weasel Walter (the Flying Luttenbachers), IDX1274, Betty's Trash, Godstomper, Hella, Jed Parish (Gravel Pit), Greg (Brainoil, Lemur Mutation), and Chris Crude (Pg.99, Mannequin). Only 997 copies made.

The participants of Vol. 2 are: Jesse Hughes (the Eagles of Death Metal), Nikki Sudden (Swell Maps/Jacobites), Silver Apples, John Easdale (Dramarama), Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Fu Manchu), Blues Goblin (Sam Coomes from Quasi), Paradise Island (Jenny from Erase Errata), Stephen Brodsky (Cave In), Steve Mackay (the Stooges), Nathan Larson (Shudder To Think), Amps For Christ (Man Is The Bastard), Black Lipstick, Eddie Angel (Los Straitjackets), R. Hoak (Brutal Truth), Phil Puleo (Cop Shoot Cop, Swans), Sonny Vincent (Testors), Immortal Lee County Killers, Brent Eyestone (Waifle, Forensics), Vaz, Elliott Sharp, Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop, Phylr), the Scheme (the Pills) and Brett Rosenberg. Limited to 998 copies.

Each volume is available for $10 directly from www.chromepeeler.com
