New MILK Album Produced by Fran Ashcroft (Gorillaz, Dandy Warhols)!
Date Published: 7 April 2005
MILK's new album is finally out! Simply called MILK, it
was Produced & Remixed in England by Fran Ashcroft (Gorillaz, Damon
Albarn, Dandy Warhols, Lords of Acid).
Though none of MILK's members are native to Los Angeles, fate led them
there to coagulate under a common goal: to carve out path for
alternative-psychedelia rock lovers. Laced with electronic wizardry, surreal
lyricism, haunting melodies and energetic live shows.
It seems that no matter what they try, MILK always finds supporters and
fans: their radio friendly sound always attracts audience along with
the attention of DJ's like Remy from KXLU "I love the band", Dave Desy
KCXX San Bernardino, San Diego's 91.X Hillary Schmidt and Bill Hartew
from KLOS, to name a few that are adding MILK's CD.
"The difference between the L.A. scene and the rest of the world",
says Eric Marx, singer-songwriter, "is that people are so blas',
probably because of the number of bands playing here, that it becomes even
more exciting when they get into MILK's show. This is really what we
want: this short but magic interaction between us and the public and this
because of our music. Nothing else: This is MILK."

What they say about MILK
Known for their high-energy shows, MILK have already found a
radio-friendly audience in the So Cal market and on college stations nationwide.

MILK is good for you- that is if you like fuzzed-out, trippy guitar
rock that simmers, boils and frequently explodes.
Campus Circle Magazine
Their mission is to lead a new trend of "New Alternative
Psychedelia", combining the aesthetics of trippy hippie bands like the Doors and
Pink Floyd with a post-grunge appeal and a "forward thinking" vision.
The L.A. Underground
A new CD that pretty much sounds like an album ready to go. MILK are an
alternative psychedelic experience from the USA, they sound with their
swirling groove like Sky Cries Mary meets Verve flow that almost gives
way to a Brian Jonestown Massacre delicateness. Eastern vibes and bits
that hint at a very mellowed out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and I see
people over there in their home town of Los Angeles are talking about
"trip-pop" and "new-alternative psychedelia".
Organart Magazine / England
MILK have become local and college radio favorites, they were voted
"Best in L.A". Rock fans will soon be asking their local record stores
if they've "Got Milk?"
Campus Circle Magazine
MILK has dubbed its unique musical technique "radio-friendly
alternative psychedelic" - quite an accurate term for their style. Borrowing
musical ideas from well-known guitar rockers like Oasis and Radiohead,
the band comes across as powerful and pleasing. The charisma and energy
is spot on.
The strong opener, "Fly", has the band playing a tight set. "Down
The Machine" is another great example of the band's edgy sound. The
guitar and keyboard echo softly in the background and then explode
together with Marx's wild and raspy vocals. Amidst the scramble of LA bands,
MILK has managed to set itself apart from the rest.
