SEATTLE'S KEXP INVITES THE CAULFIELD SISTERS TO PERFORM

Date Published: 24 March 2005

New York - KEXP in Seattle has invited The Caulfield Sisters to perform live at the Museum of Television & Radio (MT&R) in NYC on Tuesday, April 5th at noon. The radio show is open to the public and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to sign-up at www.kexp.org/events/special.asp as space is limited.

The Caulfield Sisters caught the attention of KEXP's morning DJ, John Richards when he received their debut CD/EP 'Say It With Fire'. John loved the EP and immediately featured The Caulfield Sisters on his show. The response was excellent, and 'Say It With Fire' was quickly added to the KEXP playlist. An invitation to play live in NYC soon followed.

The Caulfield Sisters www.caulfieldsisters.com are a Brooklyn-based trio that have been taking NYC one gig at a time. They've been called the Brooklyn Breeders, were named one of 'NYC's 10 Bands to Watch' by Time Out New York magazine, and have landed coveted opening slots for bands like Interpol. Their debut CD/EP 'Say It With Fire' has been receiving glowing accolades, and sharing radio airplay with The Decemberists, Postal Service, The Wedding Present, Josh Rouse, Mars Volta, and more.

KEXP DJs Kevin Cole and John Richards will be at the MT&R for a week of broadcasting beginning on Monday, April 4 and running through Friday, April 8. Broadcasts will run from 9am-3pm EST each day, and listeners around the globe can stream the broadcasts live at www.kexp.org. Ivy, Kristin Hersh, John Doe, and others are also scheduled to perform.

KEXP Radio is an influential, innovative non-commercial music radio station based in Seattle, supported by contributions from listeners worldwide. Beginning as a tiny 10-watt station back in 1972, KEXP has grown over the years into a significant cultural force. New York/Manhattan and Brooklyn listeners represent the largest concentration of paying members outside the state of Washington. Since 2003 KEXP has been courting NYC listeners by broadcasting shows live, and promoting shows in and around NYC and Brooklyn.

The Museum of Television & Radio is located at 25 West 52nd Street, New York City. Contact the museum at 212-621-6800 or visit online: www.mtr.org.
