Alamance: Moving On - Music Review

By Alexandra Herrera, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

Date Published: October 5, 2008

Alamance: Moving On - Music Review Each song from this pop rock group sounds is a complete and utter product of the pop rock genre – and they know what they're doing. Alamance sounds like they've had radio hits for years, and I'm surprised they haven't. There collection of songs, however, might not be the most original thing you've ever heard, but loyalists to the teen-pop-rock-summer-hit genre will most definitely have Alamance music on their iPods.

Soothing (yet vibrant) vocals from the lead singer, Josh Sorhagen, are high-pitched, very clear – almost feminine –, and engaging to listen to, sounding much like fellow rock (and perhaps emo) lead vocalists of Yellowcard and Simple Plan. Sometimes I imagined myself sitting with a group of punk-fashioned high school students blasting some Alamance in the car on the way to the movie theatre. Alamance creates is easy rock music, perfect for a teenage summer road trip. They're sound could have been on the radio for years with singles like "Someday", which is extremely catchy, and one might find their selves singing along to the lyrics only upon the first listen.
