Concorde Point: Boxer's Break - Music Review

Rock music is a dying art. Good rock music is hard as hell to find. At least rock that stands out from the crowd. Listening to Concorde Point was - well - an experience. The first track I listened to was "You Belong to Me" - a psychopathic, obsessive stalker type tune done acoustically that was just - odd. It made me feel uneasy. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. It makes it different - and that makes it unique. Was it done well? No. The guitar work needs to be tightened up and tweaked and obviously someone needs to learn how to use a mixer to clean that stuff up.
I was hoping for the music to get better - it didn't. The second song I listened to, "Another Game" was a blatant rip off a Motorhead tune. Vocally it sounds uncomfortable and does not seem to mesh well with the musical backing. The actual music is not that bad though unfinished, not very clean and does not match lyrically sometimes.
The music just does not work. I am sorry. I tried to like it - I did. It's like watching someone trying to rip off Motorhead, Faith no More and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In short - it's quite ugly and very disjointed. They should consider replacing the lead vocals and re-writing the lyrics to be tighter or decide on a different genre like industrial. They will work well there. Rock is not what this is - rock has melody and meshes with the instrumentation. This simply did not do that. My MP3 player jumped out of a window to get away from it.
Constructively I would have to say they at least put in the work and made an effort. It's obviously they were trying to be something more than just rock. They tried to fuse in some country which worked about as well as George Bush doing diplomacy. It was just really, really bad with the mixing. The levels were all wrong.
