Gypsy & Crazymoon: All Out Of Lies - Music Review

At the beginning of a few of their songs, Gypsy & CrazyMoon's music seems to be upbeat, laidback Rock'N'Roll. But then upon further listening to the rest of the record, the listener also realizes also that the music seems to be underdeveloped and leaving something to be desired with loose vocals trying to sound like something (or someone) that is never quite achieved.
It just seems like the free and emotive lyrics end up sounding like improvisation gone completely wrong. At times I seemed to be torn in my opinion of the music because of the definitely present talent on the guitar and the glimmer of a good classic rock song on its way, then vocal work just seems to negate the positive direction the song was going in and turns it into a bad karaoke rendition of a Janis Joplin song at a cheap bar, especially found in songs like "All Out of Lies" and "House is a Rockin'" where the lyrics are inaudible and the keyboard notes are amateur.
I understand that this group is trying to cover some legendary songs by some great musicians of the past, but experience and attention to detail still seem to be missing from most of the tracks. When the listener is trying to find something impressive within the record, we are all just left wanting a little bit more.
