Hot Chip: Made In The Dark (EMI recs) - Music Review

Hot Chip are pretty fun in that, indie electronica kinda way, think of The Faint, only their latest (read not as impressive) album and minus the dark undertones. They lean a bit too heavy towards the electronica for my tastes but their songs sound pretty polished and pretty fun at the same time. I'm having a part Saturday (you should totally come) and I feel like this album would maybe be fun to throw on. But at the same time, I kind of feel like I'm at some sort of strange cross between a hipster party and a rave as I'm listening to this right now which on second thought might not be the mood I'm going for. I guess it really depends on how the nights going.
And then way after I already stereotyped them, Hot Chip throws in this song, "Made in the Dark," that has all real instruments, complete with straight up vocals. Completely out of left field, completely out of character and completely hard to listen to. Go back to what you know, Hot Chip.
This album can be annoying at times with repetitive sounds that should never have been made once, let alone ....countless times (bendable..poseable...bendalbe...poseable...). It'd be pretty good playing in the background of that hipster rave I mentioned but other than that, just wait til Starbucks jumps on the album.
