3Starkarma: The Clearing - Music Review

By Michael Johnson, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

3Starkarma: The Clearing - Music Review With only three songs and an intro available to me to peruse with my ears it doesn't, to some, give enough insight into a groups' musical ability, style nor does it represent them as a whole. I think that's crap. Give me three songs - it's just enough.

I handpicked 3STARKARMA to review based solely on the initial guitar lines I heard in "You Said". They were crushing and had a lot of emotion in them which set the tone of the song which never let up nor let down. The song is about hypocrisy. Becoming those very people you swore you wouldn't and that, to despite yourself, continue to criticize.

"Skin" is a song that most every one on the face of this planet can relate to. The guitar work isn't overly advanced but it's tight, crisp and clear along with the vocals and drums, bass - everything works. It's like a great Chicago deep dish pizza. The rust is perfect, soft and the toppings hot and melty in your mouth - nothing gets much better than this.

"The Clearing" showcases every member of 3STARKARMA. From the tribal-like drumming to the hypnotic guitar work and the silky vocal tones all of which culminating into a really great song. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the songs I heard.

With all of this said - I need to say I want to hear more. This is my only problem. They're wet my whistle and now I wanna toot it. I feel hurt they haven't given forth more - don't be greedy guys! If you see 3STARKARMA at your local Uber Mega Music Store then pick them up - it's great rock with some Disturbed tendencies thrown in but not boring (Sorry Disturbed - great tunes, but your live show sucked).

Out of 20 I have to give it a 9 simply because I wanted more and the greedy little bunnies held back.
