Girls Don't Cry: Girls Don't Cry - Music Review

Girls Don't Cry proves their name worthy with a powerful pop-rock sound and demanding lyrics. The musical talent is there, undeniably. The tracks are well-mixed and well-structured with potential hit written all over them. The prevailing instrumentals are strangely complemented by astute lyrics that scream a big F-you to all the guys that have screwed them over. They aren't the most unique melodies and riffs, but as a girl group in a male-dominated rock world, the girls fervently make their mark. The intros are smart and compel you to listen while the bridges provide perfect transitions between the impressive vocals. The sound itself is very 90s-inspired, and it works. After listening to a few songs, I wouldn't be surprised to hear Girls Don't Cry blasting out the windows of a car full of girls singing on their way to the bar.
