Greenlight Promise: In A Mirror That Lied The Truth - Music Review

Greenlight Promise: In A Mirror That Lied The Truth - Music Review Greenlight Promise is another band I had hopes for. When I'm quickly picking bands I think I'd like to review (and I try to pick quickly because I have this crazy fear that the other reviewers are swooping in and picking up all the amazing bands and I'll get left out or something) I listen to one song that I like the title of and judge if it sounds promising enough or not to invest my time in.

The song I picked for Greenlight Promise "The Mayor of a Small New England Town" which, I still stand by as being the best one on the album.

On the whole, Greenlight Promise is kinda just your straight up, average rock band. No more, no less.

"The Mayor of a Small New England Town," I don't know if its cause I heard it first and like it because its the most familiar or what. The songs just as plain, repetitive as the rest of the album but for some reason, it sounds a bit fuller.

I can't even comment anything really on any of the other songs. This album was such a bore to get through. I'm sitting here, looking up vegan recipes, with it playing in the background, constantly checking the website to see how many songs were left that I had to listen to.

The songs are just plain old boring. And not even the boring like "Oh, I've heard this a million times before on Z100 or MTV or something, it's so played out," boring but in a "There is honestly nothing that stands out in any of these songs," kind of boring.

My advice to Greenlight Promise is to maybe play around with their instruments some more. Play around, come up with some solos or catchy hooks or something and don't be in such a hurry to record. I feel like their foundation is pretty good, they just built a rickety house or something.

My advice to you, dear reader, is to wait around and see if they take my advice first
