James Craig: 2007 Enter - Music Review

By Cailin Schiller, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

James Craig: 2007 Enter - Music Review It starts with an acoustic guitar solo. Add subtle drumming, keyboards and a voice that's a bit high, but has real passion in it and you can "get a good taste of love." My favorite track on James Craig's album was "Taste of Love" because there was a simplicity to the track, but was enough that I could really vibe to.

Not all the tracks had the same composition. "Black Widow" has more of an "On Broadway" instrumental feel, but Craig's voice it was changes it all. There is something in it that is hard to describe. I don't know, James Craig might have soul.

The above was a bold statement, and I feel that he has real potential but isn't there just yet. Not all the tracks on the album have the same fire as "Taste of Love." I found "All the Names" to be a bit repetitive. There are whip sounds on this track as well. He'll call you all the names that you like, and whip you if you want, which is fine if that's what you're into, but this song does not bring forth that kind of power. "All the Names" was a song you bob your head to.

Overall though, I think James Craig is worth giving a listen, but when you do, start with "Taste of Love" It's great.
