Pat Boone: Hopeless Romantic - Music Review

There's no denying it. Pat Boone is ridiculous.
From In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy - an entire album dedicated to covers of metal classics - to his 1961 release Moody River, Boone has been the butt of many jokes. And now, the clean-cut, self-made cheesemister has released Hopeless Romantic, 14 tracks of tacky love songs to celebrate the half-century mark of his run in the music industry.
The gaudy, teasing, blues and southern tinged tracks like "She's Out of My Life," "We Would Fall in Love" and opener "Still Waters Run Deep" are what fans would expect from the Floridian crooner. The rest are just chirpy and cheeky love ballads with song titles as disturbing as Bob Dole's Viagra commercials (like "Kiss in the Kitchen," "Let's Really Make Love," "I Need You" and "I'll be Loving You Tonight").
If you're a life-long fan of the squeaky-clean singer, then Hopeless Romantic is for you. If not, stay away.
