Eyelash: Demo - Music Review

By Jen Klee, HOT INDIE NEWS .com

Date Published: January 14, 2008

So I was getting all into Eyelash's EP, the songs are catchy and poppy, the bass is pretty sick....and then I thought, 'wait. Where have I heard this voice before?'

And then it hit me.

Eyelash's lead singer sounds just like the guy who sings in Linkin Park.

Eyelash uses that voice better though, they don't make it screech nearly as bad nor do horrible horrible 'nu-metal' or anything.

The vocals are what stand out here but unfortunatly, the EP itself is very repetitive.

The same verse/chorus/verse formula over and over, in every song.

Out of three songs, "Indie Boy" and "City of God" were the best but I think that's because if you like one sound the first time around, you're more receptive to that sound being played over and over as opposed to a sound you didn't like the first time, like "For the Movies" being repeated.

Download (don't pay for) "Indie Boy" OR "City of God" and then just play it on repeat to get a feel for their whole EP.
