Sleeper City: Sleeper City EP - Music Review

Ahhhh... what's that sound? Good rock? No. Bad Rock? Nope - not that either. It's good pop rock disguised as something more. You know like Jonas Brothers or Naked Brothers Band. Musically it doesn't suck - but it's a fake genre. Like Avril thinking she's punk. You know what I mean. It's a lie to the music listening public in general.
Sleeper City seems to do very well in the pop rock area of things - with the music itself seemingly all over the place which overpower the vocal line which doesn't really matter as the vocals aren't so up to snuff anyway and lyrics - let's not even go there.
I can only assume that the All-American Rejects are listed as one of their grand influences and maybe even good ole Alanis. Strictly pop voice singing in front of hard throttling beats. It's all over the place - a giant rhythmic mess. Like the Ramone's but lacking angst and passion.
No song really stood out as memorable. They all bled together and at some points I thought I was still listening to one song when it was the 3rd. Nothing is very differentiating here. It's all about young teen love, angst over break-ups and chicks. *yawn* - been done. New Kids on the Block.
