Are you about as fed up as I am with those soft rockers that can't tell you about some minor experiences without trying to get you to cry? Well, here is another one. To tell you the truth, I am really not impressed by how good or how emotional a singer's voice sounds, in fact, a musician, especially a rocker, should use instruments suitable to his or her voice with energy.
And what energy is there to be found in this album? None what so ever. Newbould tried too hard to create a mellow atmosphere that the album mellowed itself out. There are much-appreciated segments where he sounds like he was having fun; however, these are rare and short, and cannot by themselves hold up the entire album.
The lyrics are not that great either. Why do pop rock singers always have to sing about love? Why can't they learn from John Lennon to write meaningful and thoughtful lyrics that accompany a pop tune instead of whomever the hell they take their inspirations from?
