Guards of Metropolis: Alligator - Music Review

Although the band is capable of showing both raw energy, as in the opening track "Perfect World," and grace, as in the final track "Alligator," every other song is sub par. The album itself is also too long, with too many songs that sound similar, especially those toward the end.
The band knows how to write witty lyrics, but it only appeared briefly in several songs, including the aforementioned "Alligator." I would like to hear the same type of lyrics permeate throughout the whole album instead of just sporadic spots. The lyrics should also be more punkish as well; the band already does the punk sound pretty well. So now they sound like a bunch of pop-punk rockers, otherwise known as, posers.
Suggestion for the band: listen to The Clash more carefully.
