E4T – “How Can I Lose”

Boyhood friends Milly H and Sleepy Hoolie fell in love with rap music at an early age. Beginning in the 5th grade Milly H would listen to his father’s rap records. Not long after he began making songs of his own, then recording them in home studios. It wasn’t until he met Sleepy Hoolie that he’d finally get to go to a professional recording studio and where they’d cut tracks together. These songs would be played at house parties in the neighborhood and the requests for new joints from this duo grew quickly. One of their biggest fans was Milly’s cousin Teddy who asked them to make a song just for him. So, as requested a song was composed for Teddy and was titled “Everything for Teddy”.H M

The tune was gaining a pretty good buzz in and around Brooklyn, New York, when it was performed live locally, but before Milly and Sleepy were able to record that song Teddy was killed. Although both artists were devastated by his death they agreed their loss had to be transformed somehow into something positive. In their song they reminisced how they always wanted to do “everything for Teddy”. From this inspiration their rap group name, E4T, was born. There was no better way to eulogize and memorialize the fallen family member and childhood friend than using the name E4T as a tribute to him.

Now, years later and with the backing of Pretty Money Records, E4T went back into the recording studio and emerged with their first, soon to be nationally released single called “How Can I Lose”. Grounded by steady beats and the throb of a heavy bass line, Milly H and Sleepy Hoolie riff off of each other’s lines the way bread was meant for butter. Where Sleepy tosses out, “How could I ever lose/When I came here to win/We ain’t worried bout you/We ain’t worried bout them/Might cop that Benz/Pulling off with her friend…”, Milly comes back with, “All a I do is win/I ain’t never want to lose/Big money on a Benz/Top back when I cruise…” It’s a straightforward style of rhyme and reason wordplay that works well for E4T.

Word on the street is that E4T’s label, Pretty Money Records, is dedicated to discovering new talent and then providing the resources and empowerment to enable them to reach their artistic goals. Adding up and coming New York City rappers like E4T to the roster of their newly established record company was not only the right step, but also a major achievement for their organization. Currently Pretty Money Records is in the process of opening the doors of opportunity for E4T to get them stage, take them out on the road, and have “How Can I Lose” make its way on up the radio charts. With a team like that behind them, how can E4T lose?
